Life can be burdensome.
Financially, it’s a wonder how we survive through the month with the salaries we earn.
Physically, we cannot begin to explain how we go through each month, beating tight deadlines and meeting set targets.
Socially, after a loaded week , we are still able to pop in at that weekend outdooring, wedding or funeral.
We complain each day about not being able to do one thing or the other. Do we look also at the positives or the successes we are able to achieve?
When we are burdened and only complain, these complains have a way of clouding our ability to celebrate the successes we achieve. It’s is like running a relay race, where, instead of looking forward towards the touch line and moving there, we rather spend the time to look back to see how close our competitors are.
God blesses us each day. The ability to even make strides in our daily endeavours, should be a sign that God is always with us.
So next time you complain about your job, remember that graduate who has been job searching but has been unsuccessful.
Next time you wonder what kind of man or woman you married, remember that single man or woman who is asking God for a partner.
Next time you wish you did not have such a child, remember that childless couple crying to God each day for a child.
Next time you complain about the car you drive, remember that person who has to be in long queues daily in order to board public transport .
Remember the refrain of the hymn,
Count you blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings, see what God has done Count you blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings, see what God has done
Let us not to focus mainly on our setbacks but look on the bright side of life.
